  • EUC Stewardship 2025

    EUC Stewardship 2025

Dear Members and Friends of Emmanuel United Church,

Stewardship is more than just financial giving; it is a celebration of the many ways we contribute to the life and mission of Emmanuel United Church. Through your time, talents, and treasures, you help nurture our community of faith, support those in need, and extend Christ’s love far beyond our walls.

This past year, your generosity enabled us to support outreach programs, maintain our sacred space, provide enriching worship experiences, and foster spiritual growth for all ages. We have seen the positive impact of our ministries both within our congregation and throughout the wider community.

As we look ahead, we are excited about the new opportunities and challenges that God is placing before us. Our commitment to being an inclusive, caring, and active congregation depends on the ongoing support of every member. Each act of generosity—large or small—makes a tangible difference in our ability to fulfill our mission.

I would like to point out that in 2024 it cost $5.312/ month to run the church and its programs, and we brought in $4,991/ month, through church offerings, rent, and fundraising. This equates to a deficit of $321/month. At our current level of offerings, we will have a projected deficit by the end of 2025.

Currently 50% of the congregation is giving a weekly amount of 0-$10. For us to run a balanced budget we would need to increase our weekly giving by $5.00 a week per family.

We invite you to prayerfully consider your stewardship commitment for the coming year. Whether you give financially, volunteer your time, share your skills, or pray for our work, your involvement is essential. You can contribute to the life and ministry of Emmanuel United Church by offing your time. talent or financial gift.

If you plan on or continue to give on PAR, please remember that you need to fill out a new form and give it to Stefanie in the church office or Don Ford. You are welcomed to start your new commitment at any time or by January 1st, 2026

If you have any questions or wish to discuss how you might get involved, please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the Stewardship Committee. Together, we can continue to build a vibrant, welcoming, and compassionate community of faith.

Thank you for your ongoing support, commitment, and faithfulness. May God bless you and your loved ones abundantly this season and always.

    With gratitude and hope,

    Mario Finoro

    Chair, Stewardship Committee

  • Easter Regeneration Campaign 2025

    Easter Regeneration Campaign 2025

Now that spring is around the corner the annual Easter Regeneration Campaign for the Regen Marketplace Food Bank has begun.
Your donations can be dropped off before Sunday services from March 30th to April 13th at Emmanuel United Church.

    How to Donate:

    • You can donate either by dropping off food items (see list below) or by giving a financial donation.
    • Regen is able to purchase groceries in bulk at discounted costs, so you may want to consider giving a monetary donation in place of purchasing grocery items yourself. We are calling this the Power of Purchase. The list of food items below purchased at a lower end store would cost you about $85. Regen could use the same $85 to purchase many more items.
    • Financial donations can also be used to support the Food Recovery Program which picks up donations from grocery stores, bakeries and other food processing businesses. See Outreach presentation board in hall during Sip-N-Talk for more details.

If you wish to make a financial contribution you can do so by envelope or on-line indicating it is toward Easter Regeneration Campaign.

The foods most in need at the food bank are:

    • Pasta Sauce
    • Can Veggies & Fruits
    • Hot & Cold Cereal
    • Cooking Oil
    • Pancake Batter / Flour & Syrup
    • Canned Meat – Tuna, Salmon, Ham & Chix
    • Tea Bags
    • Peanut Butter
    • Jelly
    • Adult & Child diapers – All sizes

Thank you for helping those in need in our community. Your support is very much appreciated.

Winter Coat Drive – Adult Size Only

Winter Coat Drive – Adult Size Only

January winter coat drive for Regen has started. Do you have any gently used Adult size winter coats you no longer need? If so, please consider donating them to those in need of warm clothing this winter season. This year we are only accepting donation of coats and not any other items. Throughout January you can drop your donations off in the church coat room.

Your support is greatly appreciated to help those in need in our community during this cold winter season. God Bless.

  • Christmas Poinsettias

    Christmas Poinsettias

    Presented by M&P Committee

Again this year your M&P Committee will be selling poinsettias as our annual fundraiser. We will be taking orders on three Sundays, November 17, November 24 and December 1. These lovely red or white flowers come in a 6 inch pot and are perfect for decorating your home and our church sanctuary this upcoming holiday season or as gifts.

The price is only $12.00 each and all proceeds go to support the work of our church here at Emmanuel. Traditionally the poinsettias that are ordered are used to decorate the church during Advent and may be picked up following the Christmas Eve service. For those who wish to pick up earlier, flowers will be available at the church Saturday December 7 between 10 and 11 am.

Please see Rik Aikman, Marg Benzie, Laura Fisher or Doug Houston in the hall at Sip n’ talk to place your orders. Thank you for your support.

  • Regen Christmas Campaign 2024

    Regen Christmas Campaign 2024

    November 7th – December 8th

This Christmas season we are changing the way we give to Regen. We will not be asking you to donate items like we have in past years, instead a donation tin will be put up in place of the Tin Bucket for cash and gift card donations. The funds will be given to Regen to bulk purchase the items most needed. Regen uses the power of purchase approach to buy in bulk and they can get much more for the same money that we would individually spend to purchase a few items.

In the past few years many members have said it was hard to find the size of the items requested or to get out to shop. The committee heard your concerns and decided to try this new approach. Cash donations, gift cards to Tims or McDonalds and donations through envelopes marked Christmas Gift Items, will be sent to Regen after the campaign ends on December 8th.

Thank you for your generosity and continued support for this annual campaign to help those in need in our community.
