  • “Act/Fast” Book Study

    “Act/Fast” Book Study

In our New Creed, we are called “to live with respect in Creation.” And yet, the current ecological crisis is reaching a breaking point. How can we, as followers of Jesus, make a difference in our environment?

Join Rev’d Tom during Lent, staring on Tuesday, February 20th, for some discussions on how we can deepen our love for Creation and take meaningful difference, guided by the book “Act/Fast: Spiritual Practices for a Climate in Crisis“. Contact Rev’d Tom for more information or to reserve a copy of the book. The book will be $15.00, and subsidies are available for those who need it.

NB – This letter was received from the Regeneration Outreach Community in response to our annual givings via the Tin Bucket. Your generosity makes a difference. If you would like to support any of the ministries at Emmanuel or beyond, click here to donate online.

Dear Rev. Tom and members of Emmanuel United,

Thank you for remembering people who are mostly forgotten or ignored this season.  Your generous donation of hygiene items went into our guest’s gift bags they received Christmas morning brought many smiles to young and old.

Here’s what some guests are saying about your generosity and your investment in their survival.

    – A guest at our Christmas dinner on Dec. 16 where we served 140 people.

    – One of the 1082 families that received Christmas grocery hampers the week before the holiday weekend.

    – One of the 176 people we helped obtain birth certificates and identification this fall.

You play a major part in providing food and support, showing love, and helping build relationships that transform lives.

Your generosity as the year ends will be a beacon of hope for thousands of people throughout the winter.

With a grateful heart, we wish you and your families all the best in 2024.

  • Winter Coat Drive

    Winter Coat Drive

Winter Coat, Boots, Ski Pants and Warm Sweater Drive – Adult Size Only

Do you have any gently used Adult size winter coats, boots, ski pants or warm sweaters you no longer need? If so, please consider donating them to those in need of warm clothing this winter season.

Throughout January you can drop your donations off in the church coat room. Signs will be posted where you can hang up the coats and sweaters and bins will be available for boots and ski pants. Please do not bring other items as there will not be room.

Your support is greatly appreciated to help those in need in our community during this cold winter season. God Bless.

  • Messy Play

    Messy Play

Is your family looking for a community of Jesus-seeking people, but you’re a little wary of what “church membership” means? Have you ever wanted to talk with your kids about God, religion, or other big questions, but didn’t know where to begin? Are you looking for an open-minded place to talk about family and faith with other young families? If so, join us on the first Saturday of each month from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM for a time of community, stories, and play, as we look at Bible stories, the teachings of Jesus, and our church traditions and see how they affect our lives today.

Messy Play is a union of Messy Church and Godly Play. Messy Church is a Fresh Expression of what church can be, and is for you if you want something a little less structured than a regular Sunday morning church. Godly Play is a method of hearing and integrating Scripture and church traditions into our lives, and is great for you if you’re interested in that, but don’t want to be told what to think about it.

The best part about Messy Play? There’s lunch for everyone at noon. Looking forward to seeing you there!
