“The Call of God” Worship

A service of word based on 1 Samuel 3:1-10 There seems to be no end to all the opportunities to make a difference. Should we help out at a soup kitchen, or donate to dig wells in Africa? Should we advocate for more physically accessible spaces, or for more support for students with intellectual disabilities? There are so many good causes out there, which one (or ones) should we support? There would have been many things that a young lad like Samuel could have done in his day, but God had a particular mission for him, just like there is a particular mission for each of us today. Join us as we look int how Samuel discerned his call, and how we can discern ours today.

Points To Ponder:

1. What is something that you used to love to do or be a part of that has grown rarer in your life?
2. Looking back, have you misheard God before? Describe what happened.
3. Who do you have in your life that can point you in the right direction if you’re going the wrong way?
4. Who can you be that voice for?
